Construction

As costumes go, this was a simple one to put together. Given the short timeline for construction that I had, simple was definitely what I was going for. The only real sewing encountered on this particular project was the skirt.

The skirt started out as a longer skirt in a few sizes up, thrifted from Goodwill. I detached the waistband, then measured the distance from the raw edge to the new length I wanted at every seam, with more markings along the back of the skirt due to the rise there. After cutting along the marks, the skirt was pleated to fit the shortened waistband and reattached. The original front zipper was reinserted in the left side seam.

The explosive collar was created from 6 thicknesses of poster board glued together, with thin metal sheeting on the outside. This is covered in black electrical tape to keep it together; electrical tape also suggests the LED screen. Two hook-and-eyes keep it together when worn.

All other parts of the costume were thrifted/purchased as-is.
