Well, the idea was to do this for Halloween, but silly things like schoolwork got in the way of having enough time to put into this costume. It is still getting made, but I want the time to make it properly, so for now construction will probably be pushed back to winter.
The big idea:
My friend B is doing a water/mermaid themed costume for Halloween this year, and I decided to complement her by making an air/wind spirit outfit. The outfit will consist of:
- A corset (which I already made and own)
- a heavier fabric underskirt
- two separate layers of organza overskirt
- flutter organza sleeves
- a blonde wig
New techniques to the construction include LED wiring, use of conductive thread, and the creation of textile material (fusing synthetic organza with a cotton backing).
I'm also attempting to keep the price down as much as possible, but given some of the specialty components...
